    The value of coal exports in 2018 was $67 billion. I don't know where you came up with $179 billion?

    But even the $67 billion figure is nonsense as a real reclection of economic value. That is simply the value of coal exported.

    But if you take a foreign company, like Glencore (biggest coal miner in Australia ), that pays no tax, the 'value of their coal exports' doesn't stay in Australia, does it?

    Just because something's dug up here doesn't mean the money earned from selling it stays in the Australian economy.
