muzzarati, the idea that 1/3 is paying for 2/3 of the population is a fiction you have made up. The economy is an intertwined system. How much money will Woolworths (for eg) earn if welfare is cut or wages slashed? In such circumstances, would you be a buyer or seller of their shares? We all depend on each other but the mix is presently stacked in favour of the top 15% of the populaton and not the bottom 15% as you may be led to believe. Not enough money is going to those who spend it as opposed to those who save it.
