Much as possible, I prefer to refrain from seeing any gp.
The term informed consent is rather a doozy one - it implies that once you have been told about all the known side effects you will simply put your arm forward.
Couple of problems, firstly that you're not fully informed and secondly that even if you were, you're expected to simply get the vaccine even if you knew about the real deal, the real events.
So where does the 'choice' of the individual reside - certainly not at the same location as where one lives. Sweet coercion - you may have your doughnut - but only after being done.
Don't worry, in the main you will have a little dot at the injection point with a little soreness and perhaps followed by a little tiredness - nothing to worry too much about - no, those events are not the worry. Unfortunately there are much more serious ones that do warrant worry - but don't worry, those ones are very very rare. And you asked about long term effects - oh yes, don't you worry about that - you simply may not be here to worry - but we can't precisely tell you as to when. To ease your mind, pour yourself a cup, oh, forgot to tell you, it's on the house also.
Great marketing.
