Anyway back to the thread headline....not sure I agree with this either. Ha!...
Cancer industry is a such a wide sweeping generalisation its too hard to cover but "it" is primarily about better understanding "cancer" as a cell related demise of biological entities (phew!). Whether that understanding is research, development, testing, production of interim medications, treatment processes, experiments (this one curls most peoples toes up - excuse the pun) or some other cost based method of better understanding, they are all expensive, resource intensive and time laborious and have to be funded from somewhere....and in this day and age that funding has to be serviced or a return provided.
Not all patients can be healed, that's reality, but some offer, or are gifted by family afterwards, to be used in other useful ways for the possible betterment of others in the future.
