Having had severe pain from cervical disc problems, I am grateful for the wonders of prescription opiates. Although, the reality is that we have had morphine for a very long time, so I probably could have got pain relief 70 years ago as well..........

I think the synthetic opiates are probably less addictive although from experience, I know that even with modern synthetic opiate prescription drugs, the body develops an opiate dependency if taken for more than a few weeks.
