I know someone who has been medicating this way to reduce tumours in conjunction with chemotherapy. The DR's have said that she should have been gone many years ago with the number of tumours and severity of condition. This has helped reduce tumour size in some cases and helped prolong her life. I don't think MC is a substitute, but rather will become a complementary and necessary addition to treatment.
This is apart from the benefits of treating nausea and emotional well-being.
