hi FLEM, I can see that we are going to be fielding heaps of questions now that you seem to be getting more into the charts on your newly discovered commsec cfd site, that's fine ask away......
what you are calling spikes on both FLT and TLS I would not define as a spike, as the bars do not shoot up or down below the general trending range.
I did make some reference to MQA, using the term "long sticks" or "long legs"... the length of the bar on the chart(top to bottom) represents its daily trading range, so if you have a very large daily trading range during a day its possible to make a very good one day profit, buying and selling during the same day..... which is what happened to me on one occasion with this stock when I happened to short it at the very top of the bar and later on in the day when I saw how much the stock had plummeted I decide to take a one day profit, and from memory I then went long on the stock on the same day.....
I would be careful assuming that a stock has a large daily trading range by the length of the bar on the chart, as it could be just the magnification of the chart in the vertical direction that gives that impression.... hover your curser over the bar you are looking at and a little box should come up giving the trading range info, divide that into the share price and you get a percent trading range for the day.... then compare that with other stocks......you can make or loose more on these sort of stocks if they have a wider trading band also.
it might be an idea to have a read of a few books on the art of trading, its been a while since I have read any of those but i am sure mower or jongo will be able to put you onto a few good ones.
JBH is looking particularly good for you, i have had a bid on this all week following it down, but the bloody thing just won't come back up.
