anytime is a good time to be drinking port.. any time NOT DRINKING port is a waste of time ...

sadly ,the time and cost involved in the following is really a waste of time

boil beetroot for around 1 and 3/4 hours, cool in water and then rub skin off and cut out imperfections and slice and place in jar, heat mixture of 3 parts vinegar to 2 parts sugars and a teaspoon of salt,

easier to get on the pushie, exercise a bit - go to the shops and buy some of the canned stuff .. pre sliced and pre cooked

If you are going to eat them cooked, buying them canned is easier. Personally, I prefer them raw.
