FACT:
You're ignore the fact that the H5N1 virus has killed approx 60% of humans infected with it. (not quite the common cold!!)

Considering The Spannish Flu had only a 1% mortality rate no wonder the H5N1 virus has authorities concerned that it won't mutate into a human - human virus. (Even if its mortality rate does decrease significantly).

Well count me in I'd be quite happy to pay half the price of chicken fillets that I bought the other day. But I'd still cook them properly as I always do!

Well I'd tell that to these who kill & eat their own chooks esp. in SE Asia. And avoid duck blood soup (yech!).

It is freshly killed poultry that quite understandably present the greatest risk to those that handle them.
