FORMER Tasmanian Compliance Corporation director John White walked away from the Supreme Court in Hobart this morning a free man.
The former State Labor government minister and lawyer escaped criminal conviction after pleading guilty to committing a crime when he signed a secret deal with former deputy premier Bryan Green two days before the 2006 State election was called.
Chief Justice Peter Underwood ordered that Mr White be released from the court without conviction on a two-year good behaviour bond for his role in the political scandal.
