It is nonetheless relevant to know if the process 4DS and imec have developed could be transferred to the Canon technology?
How might the company ascertain that; I would think by talking with its own experts, imec, especially those who did the PL4 work, perhaps the people at Stanford University and of course Canon.
Talking with Canon would of course require a very tight confidentiality agreement.
What has been developed by 4DS seems to offer a great deal to the memory industry. If the process, used to date, could be replicated, (at an appropriate node size), with alternate technology, (for say, half the capital and operating costs), that might well enhance the value of what 4DS has on offer?
Wonder if DM will respond to the reasonable question? A question he and the BofD should themselves be asking.
