Hi Brentkosta,
1) Heres a link to artcles on the australian TGA website
https://search.tga.gov.au/s/search.html?collection=tga-websites-web&query=medical marijuana&op=Search
Heres a government factsheet
https://www.health.gov.au/internet/...0B98F2/$File/Medicinal-cannabis-factsheet.pdf
Heres the full legislation
https://www.legislation.gov.au/Details/C2016C01132
2) Medical cannibis is legal in Australia but can only be prescribed to people with cancer, epilepsy or in a situation where other avenues for treatment have been exhausted.
Dry cannabis for smoking is not allowed for medical purposes and is explicitly mentioned in legislation.
Currently nothing is available over the counter in australia.
3) To my knowledge no ASX listed company has been given permits in Australia.
As stated in information above the australian government wants to be able to produce medicine here for the local market
4) As this legislation came into place in November last year I assume(?) applications for permits wouldve been lodged by all companies seeking to produce locally. How long this process takes I have no idea.
With Auscanns board past and present I believe we are in a good position to receive all necessary permits.
5) Recreational cannabis is not on the cards for australia any time soon with the current govrnment.
It is only talked about as to not be happening.
Hope this helps you some.
cheers
