Spoke with Mike this morning (evening for him, LA time).
Thought I'd share our discussion with you all, censoring some more private information, identifying some key points that I've overlooked and appease my anxiety over the minimal news flow of late:
1) We discussed the maturity of the commercial contracts being negotiated. I asked the question, "what does near foreseeable future mean, as stated in a recent ASX announcement." Mike's reply, which was extremely comforting, was that whilst he cannot give a specific date due to disclosure agreements, he could confirm that more than 3 major OEMs had commercial contracts near completion with the furthest contract being signed within a few months (meaning the other 2 would be even earlier, I.e. The next month or so). Apparently, 4 draft contract documents have been passed through and 2 attorneys used. He also mentioned, subtlety, that the contracts in negotiation were very large providing another reason why it was taking so long.
2) I asked why there had been such little news flow regarding these contracts. His response was that each of the OEMs have extremely strict disclosure agreements that SMN are bound to, thus limiting the information they can publish to the ASX. Apparently, the company actually nearly jeopardised a contract by stating too much information in an ASX release. So, SMN aren't saying much not because they don't want to but because they are bound by disclosure agreements and do not want to further risk contract safety.
3) I asked what further areas management where streamlining the company into. Mike's response was that, firstly, the company also has major contracts in negotiation with military for both rotary and winged aircrafts, and that the recent newly hired sales team were driving contract negotiation in other countries around the world (particularly Brazil).
For me, as a shareholder with a massive red figure associated with SMN in my portfolio this definitely appeased my anxiety and instilled confidence back into me. Mike sounded extremely confident, perhaps the reason why he bought more shares of SMN a few weeks back.
Whether it takes 1 month or 6 months, when SMN lands these contracts - or even one contract - the rerate we will see will be insane.
I know everyone is wanting results now, and fairly so, but this is one: a stock where patience will be rewarded and 2) a true life changer type stock.
Not up ramping; DYOR, all the best.
