If a player is incapacitated by foul play, then the very least time that the offender should spend off the field, is the time that the victim spends off the field.

What you seem to be overlooking there Trevor, is that if the administration of the game came down heavily on foul play, it would virtually disappear from the game, and what a blessing that would be.

Rugby League is 'physical' enough without needing to have players copping high shots etc.

The onus must reasonably be on the tackler to avoid contact with the head. This rubbish about, "Orrrhhh, it accidentally deflected off his shoulder before it smacked into his jaw"....OK, so it might have deflected, but why should that be bad luck for the ball carrier. It should be bad luck for person that swung the arm. Minimum penalty for substantial contact with the head....2 weeks. For a shot like last night....Minimum of 6 weeks. Then watch the cowardly practice disappear from the game.

You don't need to be real smart to realise that if feeble excuses are there for the taking, then they'll be used in the feeble manner in which they are currently being used.

It's a joke. End of story.
