cucumber,all i know is that US and offshore funds are buying some as investors and some as managers who need to index weight ,the stock is tightly held and i would not want to be short, at the moment especially as FMG is in the FTSE asian index now, there could still be further upside it may slow down when these guys get to index weightings but then you have the big guys who want upto 5% strategic holdings in FMG, i believe at some time FMG will be taken out by a larger fish who wants more iron ore exposure or who wants to protect their market cartel for control of the global iron ore market- supply and hence pricing.
Please be extremely careful shorting this stock the FMG highway is littered with road kill of those who have tried to short it.
