If everyone did the 'right thing' instead of finding ways to do it the 'legal ways' and seek every which way to advoid, minimise or not pay tax at all, there wouldnt need to be any increase in taxes. In fact i reckon you could start reducing tax rates of everyone did things the right/ethical way as oppose to the 'legal' or illegal ways.
All these tax avoidance, minimisation schemes and methods employed by people and corporations is what creates the issues; not taxes.
