    Maybe. But GST doesn't effect existing stock which forms the majority of property transactions.

    At the end of the day, state governments need to raise $X in tax, whether it comes SD or land tax or some other form of revenue, it is going to come from somewhere and it is us that will be putting our hands in our pockets.
    I don't like the idea of paying land tax on my home, FOREVER.

    I wasn't aware that the original FHB grant was for that reason. In Sydney I thought it was always just because housing was so bloody expensive... But hey, you learn something new everyday
