As for being hell bent on saving investors from something..are you sure I'm hell bent? I'm just giving my opinion on what I believe, holistically, is a better policy/method of generating government revenue.
I think in the long run, land tax collection from investors would potentially be higher than what they would otherwise collect from stamp duty.. you already forgot my comment about stability of revenue stream, to which you agreed/acknowledged?
