No, SI has not moved, since the merger arbs unwound last month. If shorts were closing out, you would see buying, not selling.
Everyone knew the rebalance was coming, so any smart fundy would have sold ahead of it, to buy back in today/tomorrow at the back end of the selling period as GDXJ moves their pile.
XAUAUD has moved up the past week from 2200-2250.
No meaningful rally until GDXJ is done with dumping their mountain of stock, so at best late friday, likely next week.
