I don't see a problem with counting gender in the census. they last census had "Other" or non-specific gender as an alternate to M/F.....
why do they want to include sexual preference? its irrelevant.
they said yesterday it was to ensure no bias against people with non-hetero sexual preference in health care planning. but health care, from my own experience, is delivered equally to all regardless of sexual preference. and if the patient has a qualm about how their management is provided each person has the ability to ask for specific issues treatment.
all human bodies are treated in the same manner, excepting age related factors. theres no difference medically between any LGBQI etc as there's no room for sex in health services, unless its staff having a bonk on night shift.
