    Hope someone might be able to help.

    A paper offer implies to me (and I know nothing) that you would exchange SMM shares for PDN shares without any cash changing hands, if you take up the offer (which I won`t at $5) would any tax be payble, I would think not.

    How does this affect capital gains though.

    If I would have held SMM for a full year at the end of the tax year and they are exchanged for PDN in say in April, would I still get my discount If I sold PDN shares from previously holding SMM shares since a year earlier.

    Hope this makes some sense.

    Would appreciate some help.
