Quartz has an S.G. of 2.65 meaning a tonne would occupy 377,358 mL, the equivalent of a cube with equal sides of 72.3cm.

Vertex’s FY02022 Annual Report showed their best gold resource was at Red Hill with an Indicated yield of 1.4gm per tonne.

Gold’s S.G. is 19.3 meaning that 1.4gm would occupy a cube of 0.725 mL, the equivalent of a cube with sides each of 4.2 mm.

So, imagine a cube of quartz 72cm x 72cm x 72cm and concentrated in a corner is a little gold speck with sides of 4 mm.

I have difficulty in accepting that the photograph of the bucket of quartz came from Red Hill.
