Do you think if LNK wants to raise capital they should get in quickly? It seems institutional investors are getting burnt on many placements that have only had a slim discount to the market. With IVC, SCP, MTS and QBE all trading underwater today and BAP almost there. Obviously the market has fallen a little in the last couple of days but the effect seems disproportionate for each of these.
Many fund managers are saying they are waiting for the flood of capital raisings, though in their eagerness to participate in placements they seem to be pricing themsleves out of profits. Seems like alot of the fundie reports proudly state they are sitting on cash (having sold down in late February) and waiting for the placements to roll in, or to 'retest the lows' as all well behaved bear markets do apparently. Curious to get your read on it. Are placements flunking due to too much interest from fund managers driving razor thin discounts?
Sorry for sounding cynical! One of few funds telling it as it is and with some honesty would be 'selector funds'.
