I think your logic is flawed here.
They kept the price high until the options were converted, AND THEN they cancelled the buy back.
The options were already well in the money, they just happened to be EVEN MORE IN THE MONEY because of the buy back.
It is not about short sightedness, it is about taking off the rose coloured glasses and the blinkers to have a more balanced view of what is happening.
I think the company has incredible prospects.
But I also know that "people" were given the chance to buy shares at a significant discount to the closing price of the last week, and this was done in haste given the imminent news flow and resource upgrades due from all of the cores that are already at the lab and awaiting processing.
Just because a company has good prospects don't mean you need be afraid to question the company when they do not act in your interest.
They really do not care if you buy, sell or hold, and you need to look after yourself, because no one else will.
