Its luck as to whether they will hold or not. There just isn't the depth in the books for them to flog all their shares to retail investors for a quick buck, for every buyer there is a seller and visa versa, we average 3-5m a day, it would take them ages to churn through their purchases without tanking the price.
Generally I find the easiest way to determine whether large scales investors are out is a large drop in On balance volume. Just google OBV investopedia.
