NEWSAT RAISES CAPITAL FOR GROWTH AND ASSET PROTECTION
The financial year ahead promises to be NewSat’s most successful to date as the Boards
policies of core business focus, increasing and recurring revenue streams, no debt and
holding world class assets continue to turn the company towards profit and positive cash
flow.
The company’s teleports in Adelaide and Perth require upgrades to continue to meet the
demands of the growing list of organisations using them. In addition recent heatwave
conditions have caused NewSat and its major customers engineers to recommend a
significant upgrading to the Teleports' in-house power plants and air-conditioning units in
order to maintain our service level agreements of 99.5% + uptime. Other protective works to
satisfy satellite owners’ flight management requirements also need to be undertaken
including deployment of existing space hardware to new satellites.
These unbudgeted Capex requirements are essential to the ongoing growth and success of
the business. The Directors have accordingly approved a capital raising of $1 million to
sophisticated investors who have indicated their wish to be long term holders of the stock to
meet these costs and also facilitate some staff restructuring to ensure a reduction in
ongoing costs.
