corporate deal was the only way this was going to fly at a decent price - could you imagine doing a SPP - would take 6 weeks at some point the market might melt down and then all of you that asked for it would refuse to cough up your $3 as you could buy them on the market cheaper.
In tough times you need to close these out quickly and thats what they did.
