Maxludo I checked the investor presentations but they seem to only give an indication in the shipping time saving.
I have done some quick research and I am guessing the Cape size vessels used on a haul to India would or could carry 150,000 tons of coal. The trip to India would take 8 days less from Derby than Queensland, and 9 days less than Newcastle NSW. The hire rate is a bit hard for me to estimate. The rate depends on the ships size, the shipping market or demand, conditions (loading unloading times etc) I see estimates ranging from $40,000 to $107,000 a day. So I guess from this the saving could be $750,000 on 150,000 tons or $5 a ton. 8% ? Maybe or probably some of this saving will be reduced by the increased expense of barge transhipment.
Sorry I cant be more specific, will look into it further when I have time.
