Interested in other peoples opinions of these two charts generated from ABS quarterly data over past 26 years. The data for "private capital expenditure for selected industries" are not seasonally adjusted hence the troughs every March quarter. The most recent quarter is March 2016.
The data are presented in 3 different groups: Mining, Manufacturing and Other Industries. "Other Industries" includes water, electricity and gas but leaves out agriculture and fishing.
The second chart is interesting as to the impact of mining on overall CAPEX. Anyone hazard a guess as to what these charts are telling us and the impact on MND?
