A share consolidation should be a good thing for shareholders in the long run. You can't be a serious listed vehicle if an upward movement in your share price has to be at minimum a 50% gain. Who wants to pay 50% more than the last trade, especially on anything less than ball- tearing news? That makes it very hard to move the price up; go up a single tick and you have to deal with serious 'profit takers'.
Maybe there could be some short term pain after the consolidation as the improved liquidity allows some who were bogged to bail out, but an optimistic view is that anything happening in this stock is better than nothing. Cash burn and nothing much to show for it has characterised past performance, but actually I feel the new board have put some runs on the board, even though the crowd haven't exactly gone wild yet.
Personally I don't mind being diluted if it gives the company a solid footing for the future. I'd rather have a small slice of something than a big slice of sweet F A.
For the first time in a long while I feel like my 'investment' in ESN has opened its eyes and taken a shuddering breath. I'll take that over a coma any day.
