I agree with your comments on this post. CETO has a greater chance of commercial success in Europe and the UK where electricity prices are substantially higher then in Australia. The only savour foe CETO is that the electricity market in Australia will change in the future with the continual privatisation of the electricity market.

It is the ideal time to sell these assets, as the base load units will require significant investment to meet the environmental standards and meet the expected supply deficit. The main concern for the consumer is that these additional costs will be passed onto the end user as the new owners of the assets will not absorb these costs. The Kyoto agreement is really a stealth tax for everyone, as we all want to reduce greenhouse gases but who is really prepared to pay for it? It is always about the money!!!!
