Capital gains are always based on the earliest purchase if still part of your Holdings.
ie: you buy 500 at $1, weeks later 1000 at $1.20, after that you average down with 2000 @ 90 cents.
price goes up, and you sell 500 at $1.50.
Capital gain is 50 cents per share.
