No you are right about the options, they will outperform the heads bacause of the leverage factor. The tax works like this - If you hold your options for more than 12 months you can sell them on market and get your 12 month cgtr but if you convert them to shares after say 8 months than the clock starts back at zero with 12 months to go before you can get a tax break on your converted shares.
