    Sorry if this off topic...

    How do I go about claiming brokerage back? I am doing a lot of trades per month and spending around $1k in brokerage fees.

    Also I made a net loss of around $30-40k in year 2008 through trading, am I able to apply this as a loss for this year's tax return?
    Is there a limit how many years I can go back?
    How much is the maximum I can offset as a loss?
