of course losses can be offset against gains - so it can get a little complicated not knowing your circumstances.

can't see why you would sell out because even if you pay some tax you will still be better off.

above is IMO so DYOR and maybe get further clarification from your accountant as it appears to me you may be misunderstanding what he is saying.

Thankyou Slogger i appreciate you getting back to me with in-depth detail. Does my head in as it can get quite complicated. It really doesn't make sense now, i thought when i was told i get taxed on 100% of my profit i lose everything. That's why I thought there was no point training as I only hold stock for a few months then sell at a profit or loss. Thank you for putting it in Laymans terms I really do appreciate it.
