Your presuming everyone wants to live your lifestyle which is simply just not going to happen.
I work full-time, have a wife and a son. My day-to-day expenses necessitates having a full-time job. I've invested in shares and done reasonably well over the last 10-15 years. Some windfalls are how I paid off my prior property so quickly.
Short term trades are basically pointless now for me as capital gains are chewed up at the highest marginal tax rate. So long term plays are the only thing worthwhile.
