Note that too much debt over property speculation is causing demand contraction and lots of job losses being the primary cause of a crash or depression. Demand falls dramatically once credit limits are reached and jobs lost to a certain percentage - the fall from everything appearing to be fine to terrible can happen overnight to those not paying attention.

The pendulums pause is all but over - the deceleration has already commenced and is about to gain speed and momentum.
