Pretty sure we don't need the government to do more though. Building industry has received insane amounts of stimulus in the last 20 years through first home grants, home builder etc. This caused a lot of the excess demand which helped fuel the spike in costs which screwed builders who'd locked themselves into fixed price contracts.
