A lot of the car manufacturers will be looking for a responsible safe sustainable sources like Australia not from the Democratic Republic of Congo (which currently the biggest supplier of Cobalt) where it is mined in unsafe conditions, many fatalities occur in these mines and tens of thousands of children are often exploited in substandard working conditions.
Many ethically sensitive investors in major mining companies and manufacturers are becoming increasing strident in wanting their companies to seek Cobalt supplies from sustainable sources but also adhering to minimum working standards and conditions like in Australia.
