As you said, people tend to get unnecessarily affected by the prospect of a cap raising. But that's just the nature of the game with junior companies that operate in this sector. They will always require funding to further exploration as they don't have any cash flow generating assets (we are effectively betting our money on these companies in hope that one day they might just discover something substantial).
For those who seek limited volatility or companies that have substantial cash flow / asset backing, then by all means just invest in blue chips or get some bank shares.
