While I don't doubt the basic claims made in yesterday's announcement, it seems to me that the aim of the announcement was primarily to pump the share price. CFU have only weeks left of cash, and urgently need to raise capital. If the current sp holds, I wouldn't be surprised to see a SPP priced at around 10c emerging in the next week or so.
Yesterday's announcement should also make it easier for CFU to attract govt funding or a new partner. The key question though is whether these alternative sources of funding will emerge in time. I suspect, whatever happens, the company is going to conduct a modest SPP as stop-gap measure.
