Rameez, CQT management have acted in a open manner with Gold Fields, insofar as, they long ago expected a heavyweight would do its fair share of lifting when the time came, however the stance hasn't been reciprocated. Rather, since soon after this industry release below(back in March), GF have clammed up, indeed have been jockeying for greater control of the assets.

I tend to think participants in this capital raising are on a no-brainer, and once a few retail punters have made their exits due to their fears of dilution, or whatever, it will become evident there is wealth to be had for serious investors. Note, there is no great volume attached to the activity of the last few days, and today the simple average per trade was about $5700, which indicates punters are re-arranging their deck chairs.

    This tells a story -

    2 March 2009

CONQUEST Mining has announced that drilling by its partner Gold Fields Australasia on the Silver Hill Deposit at Mt Carlton, Queensland has resulted in some spectacular wide zones of high grade gold mineralisation.

The mining operation began with an 11 hole HQ3 diamond drilling program on V2 Hill in November 2008. This drilling was undertaken to allow the joint venture partner to work on and test their geological models and the mineralised structural styles/orientations.

These drill holes have confirmed the robust and consistent nature of high grade gold stockwork mineralised zone in the centre of the deposit at V2 Hill.

The Perth-based miner is now focused on progressing development studies, which are planned to include trial grade control and geotechnical drilling programs during the 2009 field season. Partner, Gold Fields is continuing its exploration programs with field work planned to recommence after the current wet season.
