There's a very simple fact here...
The stock market is really just a map of past human behaviour......
it's not a separate living entity.....
that map is an historical representation of what humans have done in the past and since humans frequently
repeat the same behaviour under the same circumstances it's a good chance they will keep doing so....
that's what charts are about.....they work on probability not certainty... Charts give an idea of a likely outcome not an absolute....
any chartist worth his salt understands that no matter how good a chart looks at the closing bell..it ain't happened till it's happened.....
No one can tell the future or what lies beyond the hard right edge....even Warren Buffet!!!
They can postulate, estimate but they don't know....
Charts can't predict the future but they can be a light in the dark......a guide
So don't bash the chartists when the outcome you want doesn't eventuate! At least they have some documentaion to support their view:-)
