Schoer is hoping that drilling to 100m below sea level will confirm as much as 40 million tonnes of iron ore (that's about $4 billion worth). If so, that will justify mining and building a port at Irvine

imho ,with modern mining technology advancing rapidly ,underwater mining will quickly become viable etc.
