Well I suppose that if the company could pay for the acquisition in CSL stock at >$300 that would be ideal, otherwise imo it would be greatly preferable to gear up the balance sheet. A blue chip like CSL could probably borrow at a -ve real interest rate, so I ask again why the prospective cap raise.
Looking at the sp over the past three days it's clear that even the prospect of a discounted CR has already cost shareholders more than the value of the acquisition.
