If they were going to raise capital they would probably prefer a rights issue to a spp

a spp would probably not benefit them at all

when you own a stake of $2bn odd a $15,000 spp would be a drop in the ocean.

I would say that the rights issue wouldn't allow any extras either.

anybody hoping to take advantage of a scheme with a $500 worth of shares or 40 shares will probably go no where.
