arya, when all these big companies talk of a capital return they are not returning it to me. I am a long-term investor and big fat fully franked dividends are great. Buybacks are a pain. I do not wish to have my stake diluted and any share price gain as a result of fewer shares is theoretical in many cases (try Telstra for one). If managements can't think of how to spend our money a, they should think whether they're in the right job and b, give us the cash back. Buybacks out. Cash in.
