    You also allow T3 ie. 3 trading days for the shares to be registered thus you have to buy on the 9th Nov to be sure.

    That happened to me when I missed out on SFR share offer several months ago when I bought only 1 day before pre-date!!!

    Hope this clears your pondering about pre-date, record date etc.
