Very perceptive post.
"Will the people of Australia stand up for their rights and freedom or go down the path of socialism and government control?"
The people of the west are doing the former in no uncertain terms. Australia is now several countries, one only has to scan the newspapers from Sydney, Darwin and Perth to see that.
I received a newsletter from a musician yesterday. He's old but still does concerts and was lamenting that 'western Sydney' (his words) now has so many non-english speakers that they no longer want that kind of entertainment. But the country and west can't get enough.
Australians have a reputation for being very easy going and laid back. But when the chips are down, lookout! Rudd has awoken the sleeping giant.
