From the libsCircling back to international student caps, Liberal frontbencher Jane Hume spoke to ABC's Radio National Breakfast earlier this morning, where she was asked about the Coalition's opposition to the proposal."It's pretty simple, it's because we think that this legislation simply won't work," she says.She argues the bill does nothing to solve the structural problems in Australia's immigration system."We'd much rather see a holistic approach, rather than this simple, piecemeal approach to Australia's migration system."Asked why the Coalition would block the caps when it has proposed caps themselves, Hume says the two plans are different."We'll do it in such a way that we deal directly with education providers," she says."We don't feel that there's been any adequate consultation, particularly with those private providers and regional universities."
